Mental load doesn’t come from the work
Something I’ve observed in advice practices is that business owners are often busy and tired, not just from the work itself, but from carrying the mental load of their business.
Over time, that takes a toll.
When that pressure builds, it’s natural to look for a simple fix. Something quick that doesn’t take much time to implement, because that’s all you have time for. That may be a new tool or an extra resource.
Both can definitely help.
Good tools can make a big difference and save a lot of time. But they’re far less effective if they’re not supported by solid processes and clear communication. The extra complexity and management that often come with a new tool or resource can add to that mental load.
This is usually the point where having support around change management starts to ease the pressure. You’re no longer holding everything together in your head, and the business becomes more manageable.
Over time, the mental load reduces, and things start to feel more settled.
